about

Jessica Alexandra North (b. 1993, Kuopio) is a Finnish-British visual artist and philosophy student currently living and working in Helsinki. Her works are visual thoughts and visions, expressed through a variety of mediums including ceramics, painting, film photography and textile art. She also works as a visualist, using objects and space as a canvas.

Her work is often inspired by symbolism, and notions of time: in retrospect and in visions of the future; by romanticism, by unruly gardens of flowers, and stories of the past; folk beliefs and mysticism.

She is drawn to the beyond-rational, to loveable chaos, and to that of the senses;
